How to switch from Freshdesk to SignalCX
Freshdesk charges $49 per 100 AI sessions on top of your base plan. SignalCX gives you unlimited AI analysis on every email you receive, plus Shopify order management and revenue-risk reports — for a flat monthly rate.
Freshdesk is a capable general-purpose helpdesk. But its AI features are billed per session — meaning the more you use them, the higher your bill. And none of the AI is focused on what ecommerce teams actually need: pattern analysis, revenue-risk detection, or Shopify-native order actions. SignalCX was built specifically for ecom support: intelligence first, flat pricing, and Shopify deeply integrated.
AI analysis on every email — no per-session billing, no surprises
On-demand and scheduled intelligence reports with revenue-risk detection
Shopify order management from the inbox — refunds, cancellations, draft orders
Topic clustering — automatically groups repeat complaints so you can fix root causes
How to make the switch.
Create your free SignalCX account
Register at trysignalcx.com/register. No credit card required. Onboarding takes under 3 minutes.
Copy your ingest email address
In Settings → Email Setup, find your unique ingest address. This is where your support emails will be forwarded.
Set up forwarding from your support address
Add a forwarding rule in Gmail, Outlook, or wherever your support@yourstore.com address lives. Point it to your SignalCX ingest address. Alternatively create a rule in Freshdesk to forward inbound ticket emails — but forwarding at source is simpler and more reliable.
Note: Gmail: Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Outlook: Settings → Mail → Rules.
Verify a test email arrives
Send a test email to your support address and check it appears in SignalCX. Should take under 2 minutes. If not, verify the forwarding address is exactly right and the rule is active.
Connect your Shopify store
Settings → Shopify → Connect. One authorisation step. Now every customer email in your SignalCX inbox shows their full Shopify order history and you can take order actions without leaving the thread.
Run your first report
After a few days, go to Reports → Create Report. Pick a date range and run the analysis. Unlike Freshdesk's session-billed AI, this full deep-dive is included in your plan — run it as often as you like.
(Optional) Import Freshdesk history
Export your Freshdesk tickets as CSV (Reports → Export tickets) and import via Settings → Historical Emails in SignalCX to get instant insights on your historical data.

Common questions about switching from Freshdesk.
Freshdesk's Freddy AI is billed per session ($49 per 100 sessions) and is focused on agent productivity — suggesting replies, auto-routing tickets. It doesn't analyse patterns across your entire email volume or generate intelligence reports for your operations team. You end up paying more the more you use it, with no strategic output.
Yes — forward emails to SignalCX in parallel. Your Freshdesk workflow is completely unaffected.
SignalCX supports multiple team members, assignment, tags, and priority levels. Multiple ingest addresses per workspace are on the roadmap.
Recreate them in SignalCX under Settings → Snippets. They work the same way — type a shortcode in the reply box and the full text fills in automatically.
