How to switch from Zendesk to SignalCX
Zendesk was built for enterprise SaaS teams. If you're running an ecommerce brand and spending $55–$169 per agent per month for a tool that doesn't know what Shopify is, there's a better option.
Zendesk is a powerful platform — if you need omnichannel routing, SLA management, and complex workflows across hundreds of agents. For ecommerce support teams, it's usually 80% features you don't need and 0% of the Shopify intelligence you do. SignalCX is purpose-built for ecom: Shopify-native order management, AI-powered pattern analysis, and automatic revenue-risk alerts — at a fraction of the cost.
Native Shopify order management — refund, cancel, create orders from your inbox
AI reports on every support email — not just tickets that get manually categorised
Flat pricing per workspace, not per agent — scale your team without scaling your bill
Revenue-risk alerts before problems become expensive complaints
How to make the switch.
Create your free SignalCX account
Sign up at trysignalcx.com/register — no credit card, takes under a minute. The onboarding flow walks you through setup step by step.
Copy your SignalCX ingest address
In Settings → Email Setup, copy your unique ingest email address. This is where all your support emails will be forwarded.
Forward emails from your support address or Zendesk
Set up a forwarding rule from your original support email address (support@yourstore.com) in Gmail, Outlook, or wherever it lives. Alternatively, create a trigger in Zendesk to forward ticket emails to your SignalCX ingest address. Forwarding from source is cleaner and means all emails are captured regardless of Zendesk routing.
Note: Gmail: Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address. Zendesk trigger: Admin → Business Rules → Triggers → add an email notification action.
Send a test and confirm delivery
Send a test email to your support address and verify it appears in your SignalCX inbox. If it doesn't arrive within 2 minutes, check the forwarding rule is active and correctly pointing to your ingest address.
Connect Shopify
Go to Settings → Shopify. Authorise your store in one click. Every customer email now shows their full Shopify order history, fulfilment status, and tracking — and you can process refunds, cancellations, and draft orders without switching tabs.
Run your first AI report
After a few days of email flow, go to Reports → Create Report. Select your date range and run the analysis. SignalCX will categorise every email, cluster repeat issues, surface trending topics, and flag revenue risks — things Zendesk's reporting will never surface.
(Optional) Import Zendesk history
Export your Zendesk tickets as CSV (Admin → Manage → Reports → Export) and import via Settings → Historical Emails in SignalCX. You'll be able to run intelligence reports on months of historical data immediately.

Common questions about switching from Zendesk.
Yes. Forward emails to both in parallel. Your Zendesk workflow stays completely intact while SignalCX processes the same emails independently for intelligence.
Zendesk's AI is focused on ticket routing, suggested replies, and auto-classification. The Advanced AI add-on costs an extra $50/agent/month. SignalCX's intelligence is fundamentally different: it analyses patterns across all your emails, surfaces trending issues, identifies revenue risks, and generates reports your leadership team can actually act on.
SignalCX supports assignment rules, priority levels, tags, and macros. It's not designed to replace Zendesk's enterprise routing if you have 50+ agents and complex SLA requirements — but for most ecommerce teams it covers everything you actually use.
Macros and snippets need to be recreated in SignalCX (Settings → Macros / Snippets). Views are replaced by SignalCX's inbox filtering and assignment system.
